Description
Woods Anemometer by Late Abraham Co., 19th Century opticians and mathematical instrument makers. Circa 1870-1880. Marked 'AIR METETER, No.293. Unique, very early model. Engraving of 'Woods Late Abraham & Co.' signature vs. more widely circulated, later pieces signed 'Abraham & Co' or 'Woods Abraham' adds to the rarity of this particular piece. Antique brass, wind gauge/air meter. Instrument measured by 6 individual dial needles. Measurement varieties: Feet, Mills, HDS, THDS, 10THDS, 100THDS. Lever on side originally engaged the turbine meters- turbine currently not engaging all meters. A fantastic and scarcely found piece of history. Sold as found. Weight: 10.7 oz. Dimensions: 3.50” x 2.75” x 3.00"
