About the productDescriptionI painted this painting in Foshan, China in 2018 using color mixing knives in my sports office before and after school. The inspiration behind this painting was that I had never painted with gold color before. Before starting this painting, I built the foundation, first. The first goal was I found a happy place to start from whenever I started work on this painting. The second goal was to be mentally present during each session and not let my subconscious mind to take over. For the next few days, I worked to build the background with only a handful of colors. The gold color and design by itself was too demanding and did not tell a story until I added the green color and designed it in such a way that it matched the design and weight of the gold color. By adding a shape in purple on the left balanced the black color on the right. However, the gold color still remains as the foreground which has been mistaken for a cross. Time and again, I have reminded viewers that it is not a religious painting but if that is what they see, it's okay with me. Notice the following: Look at the bottom of the canvas. I did not paint it white. Instead, I left it white because it plays well with the color above it. It's a well balanced painting where the colors work well with one another.
